On motion of Mr. Duncan,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
means, to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to authorize
the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to use the sur-
plus money arising from the charges occasioned by the
new City Charter for the reduction of the tax rate for the
year 1900. "
On motion of Mr. Martenet,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means, to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to provide
additional revenue for the State of Maryland. "
On motion of Mr. Knott,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to provide for the
creation of a franchise commission for Baltimore city,
said provisions to be a part of Article 4, Public Local
Laws, sub-title 'Miscellaneous Local Laws, ' and to be num-
bered sections 907, 908, 909, 910, 911, 912, 913, 914, 915,
916, 917, 918, 919, 920, 921, 922 and 923. "
On motion of Mr. Knott,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary
to introduce a bill entitled ''An Act to repeal section 4,
of Article 66, of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, title ' Mortgages, ' and to re-enact the same
with amendments. "
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to add an additional
section to Article 75, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title, Pleadings, Practice and Process, ' sub-title ' Plead-
ings, ' to follow section 22 A, and to be known as ' Sec-
tion 22 B, ' providing for suits by and against voluntary
associations. "
On motion of Mr. Latrobe,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill to provide for the further pub-
lication of the archives of Maryland. "
On motion of Mr. Robinson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to repeal and
