the making of challenges at general elections. No chal-
lenge shall be determined by the judge of the primary
election until the ballot of the voter has been handed to
and received by the judge in charge of the ballot box,
and if such ballot shall be repeated, the word 'repeated'
shall be written upon the same with the name and ad-
dress given by the person offering to vote the same, and
the said ballot so repeated shall be delivered to the in-
spector of the primary election, and by him returned to
the Board of Supervisors of Elections.

"164. When a voter presents himself to vote at a pri-
mary election he shall give his name and address, and if
his name shall be found upon the poll list of said primary
election by the primary election inspector, his name shall
be written on each of the clerk's books in its proper con-
secutive order, and then he shall hand his ballot to
the judge in charge of the ballot box, and if his
vote shall be challenged and repeated, the clerks of the
said primary election shall draw a line through the name
of such voter on their own poll list, and shall write after
such name the word "repeated" precisely as if the poll
book was one kept for a general election.

"165. When the hour arrives for closing the polls, the
watchers shall be first allowed to enter the room before
the ballot box is opened, the clerks shall announce in a
loud voice the number of names appearing to have voted
for on their poll books. The ballot box shall then be
opened and the ballots counted in the manner directed at
a general election, and the result proclaimed in the same
manner as is prescribed by section 67 of this Article, and
police returns shall be made out and returned in the man-
ner prescribed by said section 67.

The judges shall make out duplicate returns of said
primary election in the manner set forth in section 68 of
this Article, and when such duplicate returns have been
made out and signed, they shall be sealed up in separate
envelopes and indorsed in the manner provided in section
68, except that in addition to the endorsement across the
flap of said envelope of the names of the judges and
clerks of said primary elections there shall be also upon
said flap of said envelope the signature of the inspector
of said primary election, and one of such envelopes so
sealed up shall be addressed to the Board of Supervisors
