visors or a member thereof, when the said judges or
clerks are sworn in.

"The commissions in the counties shall be sent by the
Board of Supervisors of Elections to each polling place
in charge of the primary election inspector, who shall
deliver the said commission to each judge and clerk
upon receiving from the said judge or clerk his oath of
office properly taken and certified as aforesaid, and not
before.

"Each judge of a primary election shall have all
authority conferred upon a judge of a general election by
section 55 of this Article.

"161. The respective Board of Supervisors of elections
shall cause to be printed all ballots to be used at primary
elections in the various counties and in the city of Balti-
more. All ballots which the said Supervisors of Elec-
tions shall cause to be printed shall be precisely uniform
in size and color, and in the character, quality and weight
of paper, so that it shall be impossible to distinguish any
ballot to be used at any particular primary election from
any other ballot to be used at the said election when it
is folded with the face of said ballot inside.

"Anyone desiring to have ballots printed shall file a
request for the printing of such ballots with the board of
supervisors of elections not later than forty-eight hours
preceding the time fixed for the opening of the polls for
the primary election at which such ballots shall be used,
such requests shall be signed by some registered voter or
voters of the city, district, ward, precinct or county in
which the ballots are to be used. Such requests shall
state the number of ballots desired, and shall contain or
be accompanied by a description, copy or representation
of the ballot, the printing of which is requested. Such
ballot may contain in addition to the names of candidates
at such primary elections and the positions for which
they are candidates, the name of the party holding the
said primary election and the date of such primary elec-
tion, and the location of one or more of the polling places f or
such primary election, such ballot may also contain a
designation of the principal issue or faction represented
by the candidates upon it. Such designation to be com-
posed of not more than five words, and such ballot may
bear upon it an emblem or device, provided that such.
