The supplement to the act, entitled, An act for the
relief of the poor of Caroline county, the bill to open a
road from Severn ferry, in Anne-Arundel county, to Patapsco lower ferry,
the amendments thereto, the bill to
correct a mistake in the beginning of lot number three thousand nine hundred
and eighty-three of the lands lying
westward of Fort Cumberland, the resolution respecting a loan of money
from the bank of Baltimore, and the
resolution in favour of Thomas Renshaw, were sent to the house of delegates
by the clerk.
The supplement to the act, entitled, An act to provide
for the administration of justice in cases of crimes and
misdemeanours in the city and county of Baltimore, was read the second
time and will pass.
The additional supplement to the act passed at April
session, seventeen hundred and eighty-seven, entitled, An
act to lay out several turnpike roads in Baltimore county, was read the
second time and will not pass.
The bill to authorise and empower the levy court of
Charles county to assess and levy a sum of money for the
purpose of repairing and improving the public road leading from Port-Tobacco
through the Zachia Swamp at the
Old Bridges, was read the second time by especial order and will pass.
Uriah Forrest, Esquire, appeared in the senate.
The senate adjourns till to-morrow morning 10 o'clock.

THE senate met. Present the same members as
on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read.
The bill for the relief of Devalt Glockner, of Washington
county, was read the second time and will
pass with the proposed amendment.
Amendment proposed. Strike out from the word "acquired"
in the eleventh line to the end of the bill, and
insert, " provided always, that nothing in this act contained shall in
any manner defeat or affect any right, title
or claim, to the said property, or any part thereof, acquired or prosecuted
y any person or persons whatever
before the passage of this act; and provided also, that unless the said
Devalt Glockner shall, on or before the first
day of June next, proceed according to law to make himself a citizen of
the United States, this act shall have
no effect to confirm his title to the property above mentioned, nor shall
he, or any person claiming under him,
derive any benefit under this act; but of the said Devalt Glockner shall
die before the time when, by the laws of
the United States, he may become a citizen thereof, nothing in this provision
contained shall prevent him from
transmitting or transferring his said property by descent or devise
to any issue he may leave residing within the
United States, who is hereby declared capable in law to hold the same,
or to any other person, being a citizen
of the United States, and capable in law to hold the same."
The bill for the relief of Samuel Couden, of Cæcil
county, was read the second time and will pass with the
proposed amendment.
Amendment proposed. Strike out from the word "laws"
in the thirteenth line to the end of the bill, and
insert, " provided always, that nothing in this act contained shall in
any manner defeat or affect any right,
title or claim, to the said property, or any part thereof, acquired
or prosecuted by any person or persons whatever
before the passage of this act; and provided also, that unless the
said Samuel Couden shall, on or before the
first day of June next, proceed according to law to make himself
a citizen of the United States, this act shall

in the fourteenth line to the end of the bill,
and insert " provided always, that nothing in this act contained shall
in any manner defeat or affect any right,
title or claim, to the said property, or any part thereof, acquired
or prosecuted by any person or persons whatever
before the passage of this act; and provided also, that unless the
said John Sites shall proceed according
to law to make himself a citizen of the United States, this act shall have
no effect to confirm his title to the property
above mentioned, nor shall he, or any person claiming under him, derive
any benefit under this act; but
if the said John Sites shall die before the time when, by the laws of the
United States, he may become a citizen
thereof, nothing in this proviso contained shall prevent him from transmitting
or transferring his said property by
descent or devise to any issue he may leave residing within the United
States, who is hereby declared capable in
law to hold the same, or to any other person, being a citizen of the United
States, and capable in law to hold
the same."
The bill for the relief of Thomas McCutchen, of Cæcil
county, was read the second time and will pass with
the proposed amendment.
Amendment proposed. Strike out from the word "laws"
in the sixteenth line of the first page to the end of
the bill, and insert, " provided always, that nothing in this act contained
