    The following message being prepared, was read, agreed to, and sent to the senate, with the bill for the relief
of sundry insolvent debtors, by the clerk.

BY the HOUSE of DELEGATES, December 12, 1800.
        GENTLEMEN OF THE SENATE,
    WE have agreed to all the amendments proposed by you to the bill, entitled, An act for the relief of sundry
insolvent debtors, excepting the one to be inserted after the word "creditors" in the fifth line of the twenty-first
page.  Instead of this we submit to your consideration the propriety of striking out from the word "so" in
the same line of the same page to the word "act" in the seventh line of the same page, and of inserting the
amendment herewith sent, viz. " two or more of his or their creditors, having due to them the amount of one
fourth of the debts due by him or them at the time of the passing of this act, or in case there be not more than
eight creditors, if any one creditor, having due to him the amount of one fourth of such debts.
                                                                By order,                                                    W.  HARWOOD, clk.
    The clerk of the senate delivers the bill for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors, and the following message:
BY the SENATE, December 12, 1800.
        GENTLEMEN,
    WE have receded from our amendment to the bill, entitled, An act for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors,
and have agreed to adopt that proposed by you.
                                                                By order,                                                    W. S.  GREEN, clk.
    Which was read the first and second time, agreed to, and the bill ordered to be engrossed.
The resolution in favour of Robert Courtenay, endorsed; " By the senate, December 11, 1800: Read the first
" time and ordered to lie on the table.

" By the senate, December 12, 1800:  Read the second time by especial order and dissented from.
                                                                " By order,                                                    W. S.  GREEN, clk."
The following message:

    WE have negatived your resolution in favour of Robert Courtenay, as we think it places the state of Maryland
in a different situation from what she would have been in provided he had filed his bill in chancery for relief
