warrants of escheat in certain cases, and the further supplement to
an act, entitled, An act to
streighten and amend the public roads in Harford county, and for other
purposes, were sent to the senate by the
clerk.
Mr. Chapman, from the committee, delivers to the
speaker the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the representation
of Charles Emory, Esquire, examiner-general of
the eastern shore, report, that they find the said examiner, from the first
day of November, 1799, to the twentieth
day of January, 1800, has examined twenty-three certificates, amounting
to eighteen pounds fourteen shillings
and seven-pence three farthings, and from the said twentieth of January
to the first day of November, 1800, he has
examined ninety certificates, amounting to seventy-five pounds seven shillings
and two-pence halfpenny, making
in the whole ninety-four pounds one shilling and ten-pence one farthing.

Which was read.
A petition from John Bridenhart, of Allegany county,
praying an act of insolvency, was preferred, read,
and referred to the committee appointed on petitions of a similar nature.
The bill for the relief of Frederick Saler, of Frederick
county, was read the second time by especial order,
passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
The report on the letter of John Callahan, was read
the second time and concurred with.
On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill supplementary
to an act, entitled, An act to regulate elections.
ORDERED, That Mr. Geogheagan, Mr. Cromwell and Mr. Edmondson, be a committee
to prepare and bring in
the same.
Mr. Parker, from the committee, delivers to the speaker
a bill, entitled, An act for the improvement of the
public roads in Kent county; which was read the first time and ordered
to lie on the table.
A petition from sundry inhabitants of Cæcil county,
praying a change of the fourth district, was preferred,
read, and referred to Mr. Gilpin, Mr. Forman and Mr. Miller, to consider
and report thereon.
A petition from sundry inhabitants of Frederick county, praying
an act may pass for laying out a road from
Frederick-town to the city of Baltimore, was preferred, read, and referred
to Mr. Shriver, Mr. Nelson and Mr.
Kemp, to consider and report thereon.
The bill authorising James Bowdle, late collector
of Talbot county, to complete his collections, was read the
second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
Mr. Johnson, from the committee, delivers to the speaker
a bill, entitled, An act for the relief of William
McMahan, and others, securities of Robert Sinclair, late sheriff of Allegany
county; which was read the first
time and ordered to lie on the table.
A petition from Henry Disherd, of Frederick county,
praying a confirmation of his title to a certain lot of
ground, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Nelson, Mr. Shriver and
Mr. Marbury, to consider and report
thereon.
A petition from sundry inhabitants of Creager's-town,
in Frederick county, praying an act may pass to prevent
swine going at large in said town, was preferred, read, and referred to
Mr. Dashiell, Mr. Shriver and Mr. Nelson,
to consider and report thereon.
Mr. Addison, from the committee, delivers to the speaker
a bill, entitled, An act to prevent swine from
going at large in the town of Queen-Anne, in Prince-George's county; which
was read the first time and
ordered to lie on the table.
Mr. Montgomery, from the committee, delivers to the
speaker a bill, entitled, An act prescribing the form
of the bond to be hereafter given by the clerks of the several counties
of this state; which was read the first
time and ordered to lie on the table.
Mr. Nelson, from the committee, delivers to the speaker,
the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Henry
Disherd, of Frederick county, report, that they
have taken the same into consideration, and being satisfied the allegations
therein contained are true, are of
opinion the same is reasonable and ought to be granted, and that a law
should pass agreeably to the prayer
thereof.

Mr. Dashiell, from the committee, delivers to the speaker
the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of sundry
inhabitants of Creager's-town, in Frederick
county, beg leave to report, that they have examined the same, and are
of opinion the prayer thereof is reasonable,
and ought to be granted.

Which was read the first and second time, concurred
with, and leave given to bring in a bill pursuant thereto.
ORDERED, That the committee appointed on said petition prepare and bring

A petition from sundry inhabitants of Kent and Queen-Anne's
county, praying an act may pass to prevent the
sale of negroes, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Mercer, Mr. Parker,
Mr. Chapman, Mr. Harwood,
Mr. Steele, Mr. Chambers and Mr. Lowrey, to consider and report thereon.
