The report on the petition of James Bowdle, was read
the second time, concurred with, and leave given to bring
in a bill pursuant thereto. ORDERED, That the committee appointed
on said petition prepare and bring in the same.
A petition from Henry Lenhart, of the city of Baltimore,
counter to the petition of Robert Ross, was preferred,
read, and referred to the committee appointed on the petition to which
it is counter.
The supplement tot he act for the promotion of literature
in this state, was read the second time and passed.
Mr. McPherson, from the committee, delivers to the
speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the relief of William
Burrell Magruder and Thomas Lund Washington; which was read the first
time and ordered to lie on the table.
Mr. McPherson, from the committee, delivers to the
speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the relief of Thomas
J. Beatty, of George-town, Montgomery county; which was read the first
time and ordered to lie on the table.
On the second reading of the bill to alter such
parts of the constitution and form of government as relate to
voters and the qualification of voters, the question was put, That
the word "white" be stricken out of the said
