THE house met. Present the same members as
on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read.
Mr. Addison, from the committee, delivers to the speaker
the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of sundry
inhabitants of Prince-George's county, praying
that an act may pass to prevent swine from going at large in the town of
Queen-Anne, report, that they have
taken the same into consideration, and are of opinion that the prayer thereof
is reasonable, and ought to be
granted,

Which was read the first and second time, concurred
with, and leave given to bring in a bill pursuant thereto.
ORDERED, That the committee appointed on said petition prepare and bring
in the same.
Mr. Geoghegan, from the committee, delivers to the speaker
the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petitions of
sundry inhabitants of Washington county, praying a
law may pass to open a road from Elizabeth-town, in said county, towards
Mercersburgh, in Pennsylvania, have
taken the same into consideration, and in as much as there are two petitions
having the same object in view, but
differ as to the location of said road, and your committee believing the
object to be a desirable one, beg leave to
submit the following resolution:
RESOLVED, That the petitions of sundry inhabitants of
Washington county, respecting the opening a road
from Elizabeth-town aforesaid to Mercersburgh, in Pennsylvania, be referred
to the consideration of the next
general assembly.

Which was read the first and second time and concurred with.
On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill relating to
the allowance of the judges of the orphans courts, justices
of the levy courts, and commissioners of the tax, and others, in the
several counties of this state. ORDERED,
That Mr. C. Frazier, Mr. Dashiell, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Orrell and Mr. E. Davis,
be a committee to
prepare and bring in the same.
Mr. McCulloch, from the committee, delivers to the
speaker the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of John
Charles Fancois Chirac and Henry Peters, of
the city of Baltimore, report, that they have duly considered the same,
with the documents annexed, and are of
opinion that the prayer thereof is reasonable, and that leave be given
to bring in a bill relinquishing the interest
of the state in the escheat made on the property of John Baptist Chirac,
in favour of the petitioner.

Which was read.
Mr. Quynn, from the committee, delivers to the speaker
the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of John
Jarvis, of the city of Annapolis, report, that
they have taken the same into consideration, and find the facts therein
stated are true; they are therefore of opinion
that a law ought to pass to secure the title to the said John Jarvis,
agreeable to his purchase. All which is
submitted to the consideration of the house.

The supplement to the act, entitled, An act to prevent
the going at large of swine within five miles of the
city of Baltimore, in Baltimore county, was read the second time, and the
question put, That the said bill do
pass? Determined in the negative.
The report on the petition of William Works was read
the second time, concurred with, and leave given to
bring in a bill pursuant thereto. ORDERED, That the committee
appointed on said petition prepare and bring in
the same.
A petition from Henry Joseph Stier, of Prince-George's
county, praying a confirmation of his title to certain
lands, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Addison, Mr. Somervell
and Mr. Chapman, to consider and
report thereon.
Petitions from William Sprigg Bowie, of Prince-George's
county, and Edward Moore, of Calvert county,
praying acts of insolvency, were preferred, read, and referred to the committee
appointed on petitions of a similar
nature.
Mr. Hyland, from the committee, delivers to the speaker
the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of James
Bowdle, of Talbot county, report, that they
have examined the same, and are of opinion that leave ought to be given
to bring in a bill agreeably to the
prayer thereof.
