" By the senate, November 24, 1800:  Read the second time and will pass.
                                                            " By order,                                                    W. S.  GREEN, clk."
The bill to incorporate the presbyterian church in Snow Hill, in Worcester county, the bill to incorporate a
presbyterian and lutheran church in the county of Baltimore, the further supplement to an act, entitled, An act
for building a new gaol in Baltimore county, severally endorsed; " By the senate, November 22, 1800:  Read
" the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
                                                            " By order,                                                    W. S.  GREEN, clk.
" By the senate, November 24, 1800:  Read the second time and will pass.
                                                            " By order,                                                    W. S.  GREEN, clk."
    Ordered to be engrossed.
And the bill to resurvey and lay out anew Princess-Anne town, in Somerset county, and for other purposes,
endorsed; " By the senate, November 21, 1800:  Read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
                                                            " By order,                                                    W. S.  GREEN, clk.
" By the senate, November 24, 1800:  Read the second time and will pass with the proposed amendments.
                                                            " By order,                                                    W. S.  GREEN, clk."
Which amendments were read the first and second time, agreed to, and the bill ordered to be engrossed.

The house adjourns till to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

W    E    D    N    E    S    D    A    Y,    November 26, 1800.

    THE house met.  Present the same members as on yesterday.  The proceedings of yesterday were read.
    The bill for the destruction of squirrels in Caroline county, was sent to the senate by the clerk.
    On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill for the improvement of the public roads in Kent county.  ORDERED,
That Mr. Parker, Mr. Hanson and Mr. Nelson, be a committee to prepare and bring in the same.
    On motion, Leave given to bring in a supplement to the act, entitled, An act to authorise and empower the
levy court of Montgomery county to assess and levy a sum of money on the assessable property thereof for the
purpose of building a new gaol in said county.  ORDERED, That Mr. T. Davis, Mr. Magruder and Mr. Veatch,
be a committee to prepare and bring in the same.
    The bill for the relief of William Ballinger, Basil Dorsey and Anthony Poultney, of Frederick county, was
read the second time by especial order, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    Petitions from Levin Belt, of Baltimore county, William Warren and John Starck, of the city of Baltimore,
praying acts of insolvency, were preferred, read, and referred to the committee appointed on petitions of a
similar nature.
    A petition from the trustees of the poor of Calvert county, praying the levy court may be authorised to levy 
a sum of money on said county as a compensation for the services of their clerk, was preferred, read, and referred
to Mr. Parran, Mr. Carcaud and Mr. Blake, to consider and report thereon.
    Mr. Harwood, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to open a road from Severn
ferry, in Anne-Arundel county, to Patapsco lower ferry; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on
the table.
    A petition form Henry Downes, in behalf of the representatives of John Corrie, counter to the petition of William
Warren, was preferred, read, and referred to the committee appointed on the petition to which it is counter.
    A petition from Samuel P. Wallace, and others, praying they may be authorised to erect bridges over the
Susquehanna canal, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Miller and Mr. Gilpin, to consider
and report thereon.
    The act further supplementary to the act, entitled, An act for the better administration of justice in the several
counties of this state, was read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    Mr. Nelson, form the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:
    THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Philip Shriner, of Frederick county, report, that they
have taken the same into their most serious consideration, and are of opinion that if the allegations therein contained
are true, it would be right and proper that the prayer of the petitioner should be granted, but for as
much as your committee have no evidence on the subject, they are of opinion that the same ought to be referred
to the next general assembly.

    A petition from John Howard, of Somerset county, praying an act of insolvency, was preferred, read, and
referred to Mr. Hyland, Mr. Lowes and Mr. Holbrook, to consider and report thereon.
    A petition from John Sprigg Belt, and others, securities of Dennis Griffith, praying to be released from the
securityship, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Mercer, Mr. Dashiell and Mr. Nelson, to consider and
report thereon.
    Mr. Montgomery, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, A supplement to the act for
the promotion of literature in this state; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
