    Which was read the first and second time, concurred with, and leave given to bring in a bill pursuant thereto.
ORDERED, That the committee appointed on said petition prepare and bring in the same.
    Mr. Wilson, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the relief of George Rice,
of Worcester county; which was read the first and second time by especial order, passed, and sent to the senate
by the clerk.
    The speaker laid before the house an account of fees received by Vachel Stevens, examiner of the western
shore; which was read, and referred to Mr. Johnson, Mr. Montgomery and Mr. McPherson, to consider and report
thereon.
    The clerk of the senate delivers a bill, entitled, A supplement to an act, entitled, An act for the relief of
sundry insolvent debtors, endorsed; " By the senate November 22, 1800:  Read the first time and ordered to
" lie on the table.
                                                            " By order,                                                    W. S.  GREEN, clk.
" By the senate, November 24, 1800:  Read the second time and will pass.
                                                            " By order,                                                    W. S.  GREEN, clk.
    Which was read the first and second time by especial order, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
The bill to confirm the proceedings of the levy court of Talbot county respecting a road therein mentioned,
endorsed; " By the senate, November 20, 1800:  Read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

" By the senate, November 22, 1800:  Read the second time and will not pass.
                                                            " By order,                                                    W. S.  GREEN, clk.
A letter from the printer of the state, with the second volume of the laws compiled by William Kilty, endorsed;
" By the senate, November 24, 1800;  Read and referred to the consideration of the house of delegates.

    Which was read.
And a memorial from William Kilty, of the city of Annapolis, respecting the compilation of the laws of the
state of Maryland, endorsed; " By the senate, November 24, 1800:  Read and referred to the consideration of
" the house of delegates.

    Which was read, and referred to Mr. Mercer, Mr. Dashiell, Mr. Chapman, Mr. Wilson and Mr. Johnson, to
consider and report thereon.
    Mr. Montgomery, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act further supplementary
to the act, entitled, An act for the better administration of justice in the several counties of this state; which
was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
    The bill for the better preservation of last wills and testaments disposing of real estates, was read the second
time, and the question put, That the said bill do pass?  The yeas and nays being required, appeared as follow:

So it was determined in the negative.
    A petition from James Millegan, of Cæcil county, praying a confirmation of his title to certain lands purchased
of George Hamilton, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Nelson, Mr. Miller and Mr. Gilpin, to
consider and report thereon.
    Mr. McPherson, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:
    THE committee to whom was referred the petition of sundry inhabitants of Charles county, praying a sum of
money may be levied on said county for the purpose of improving the public road leading through Zachia Swamp
at the Old Bridges, report, that they have considered the same, and are satisfied that the difficulties and inconveniencies
complained of by the petitioners really exist, from which your committee are of opinion they ought
to be relieved, agreeably to the prayer of their petition; they therefore recommend that a law may pass, authorising
and directing the levy court of Charles county to assess a sum of money on the property of said county
for the purpose of improving the said road.
                                                                By order,                                            L.  GASSAWAY, clk.
    Which was read the first and second time, concurred with, and leave given to bring in a bill pursuant thereto.
