The bill to continue an act, entitled, An act for the better administration of justice in the several counties of
this state, and the several supplements thereto, and the further supplement to the act passed at November session,
seventeen hundred and eighty-seven, entitled, An act to lay out several turnpike roads in Baltimore county,
severally endorsed; " By the senate, November 20, 1800:  Read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

    THE house met.  Present the same members as on yesterday.  The proceedings of yesterday were read.
    A petition from Thomas McCutchen, of Cæcil county, an alien, praying a confirmation of his title to
certain lands, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Gilpin, Mr. Forman and Mr. Miller, to consider and
report thereon.
    Mr. Geoghegan, from the committee, delivers tot he speaker a bill, entitled, A supplement to an act, entitled,
An act respecting the public roads in Washington county; which was read the first and second time by especial
order, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, A further supplement to an act, entitled, An act for
building a new gaol in Baltimore county.  ORDERED, That Mr. Lemmon, Mr. Love and Mr. Worthington, be
a committee to prepare and bring in the same.
    Mr. Thompson, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act relating to constables and
constables fees; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
    Mr. Lemmon, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, A further supplement to an act,
entitled, An act for building a new gaol in Baltimore county; which was read the first and second time by especial
order, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    A petition from George William Murray, praying an act of insolvency, was preferred, read, and referred to
the committee appointed on petitions of a similar nature.
    A memorial from James McHenry and James Carroll, of the city of Baltimore, praying the bill to enable the
mayor and city council of Baltimore to introduce water into the said city might not pass, was preferred and read.
    Mr. Mercer, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:
    THE committee to whom was referred the petition of John Snowden and Caleb Dorsey, of Anne-Arundel
county, have duly considered the same, and report, that an act should pass vesting in Jonathan, Elias, George
and John Ellicott, and their heirs and assigns, a right to levy a toll on the roads leading from Frederick county
and Montgomery county to Baltimore, by Ellicott's lower mills, until they shall be reimbursed the principal sum
by them advanced, with interest, under an act of assembly passed in the year one thousand seven hundred and
ninety-one.
                                                            By order,                                                        J.  HARWOOD, clk.
    Which was read the first and second time, concurred with, and leave given to bring in a bill pursuant thereto.
ORDERED, That the committee appointed on said petition prepare and bring in the same.
