    The report on the petition of Joshua Jarboe was read the second time, the resolution therein contained assented
to, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The bill for the relief of Henry King and Philip Stover, was sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The report on the petition of Samuel Couden was read the second time, concurred with, and leave given to
bring in a bill pursuant thereto.  ORDERED, That the committee appointed on said petition prepare and bring in
the same.
    The report on the petition of Samuel Bond was read the second time, the resolution therein contained assented
to, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    A petition from Joseph Swearingen, executor of Benoni Swearingen, of Washington county, praying that a
road leading through the land and orchard of the deceased may be altered and changed, was preferred read, and
referred to Mr. Geoghegan, Mr. Smith. of Washington, and Mr. Cellar, to consider and report thereon.
    On motion, the question was put, That leave be given to bring in a bill to appoint an agent for the year
eighteen hundred and one?  Determined in the negative.
    Petitions from Washington Johnson, of the city of Baltimore, and Thomas Stanford, of Dorchester county,
praying acts of insolvency, were preferred, read, and referred to the committee appointed on petitions of a
similar nature.
    The report on the petition of Christopher Walker was read the second time, concurred with, and leave given
to bring in a bill pursuant thereto.  ORDERED, That the committee appointed on said petition prepare and bring
in the same.
    Mr. Goldsborough has leave of absence.
    Mr. Miller, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the relied of Samuel Couden,
of Cæcil county; which was read the first and second time by especial order, passed, and sent to the senate
by the clerk.
    Mr. Lowes, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to resurvey and lay out anew
Princess-Anne-town, in Somerset county, and for other purposes; which was read the first and second time by
especial order, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    Mr. Lowes, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to repeal an act, entitled, An
act for the more effectual preservation of the breed of wild deer in Somerset and Dorchester counties; which
was read the first and second time by especial order, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    Mr. Montgomery, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to incorporate a company
for building bridges over the Great Falls of Gunpowder, in Baltimore county, and Winter's run, in Harford
county, where the post-road leading from Baltimore to Philadelphia intersects the same; which was read the
first time and ordered to lie on the table.
    Mr. Wilson, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to incorporate the presbyterian
church in Snow Hill, in Worcester county; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
    Mr. Geoghegan, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:
    THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Joseph Swearingen, executor of Benoni Swearingen,
of Washington county, deceased, report, that they have taken the same into consideration, and believe the facts
therein stated to be true, and are of opinion a law ought to pas to redress the grievance complained of.

    Which was read the first and second time, concurred with, and leave given to bring in a bill pursuant thereto.
ORDERED, That the committee appointed on said petition prepare and bring in the same.
    The bill to lay out a road in Worcester county, was read the second time by especial order, passed, and sent
to the senate by the clerk.
    The speaker laid before the house a report from the president and trustees of Charlotte-Hall school, in Saint-Mary's
county; which was read and referred to the committee appointed on the report of the trustees of Frederick
county academy.
    The bill to relinquish the right of this state to the tract of land therein mentioned, was read the second time,
passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The bill to lay out and open a road from Jesse Tomlinson's, on Braddock's old road, to Matthew Ball's, on
George's creek, was read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The bill to pay the civil list, and other expences of civil government, was read the second time, passed, and
sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The bill to suspend part of an act for the draining of a marsh and branch, known by the name of the Long
Marsh, lying in Queen-Anne's and Caroline counties, passed at November session, one thousand seven hunderd
and eighty-nine, was read the second time by especial order, and the question put, That the said bill do pass?
    Mr. Worthington, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled An act to lay out a road from
Christopher Walker's mill, in Anne-Arundel county, to intersect the Frederick turnpike road at or near the seven
