    THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Thomas McCutchen, of Cæcil county, report, that
they have taken the same into consideration, and are of opinion the prayer thereof ought to be granted.

    Which was read the first and second time, concurred with, and leave given to bring in a bill pursuant thereto.
ORDERED, That the committee appointed on said petition prepare and bring in the same.
    Mr. Gilpin, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the relief of Thomas
McCutchen, of Cæcil county; which was read the first and second time by especial order, passed, and sent to
the senate by the clerk.
   Mr. Parker, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act relating to the public wharf
and ferry at Chester-town, in Kent county; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
    A petition from George Renshaw, of Harford county, praying the treasurer of the western shore may be authorised
to give his bond credit for a debt due the state, which has been paid, for certain property purchased of
the intendant, and that patent may issue for the same, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Montgomery,
Mr. E. Davis and Mr. Bond, to consider and report thereon.
    A petition from George Rice, of Worcester county, an alien, praying a confirmation of his title to certain
lands, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Wilson, Mr. Gunby and Mr. Purnell, to consider and report
thereon.
    Mr. C. Frazier, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:
    THE committee to whom was referred the report of the president and trustees of Charlotte-Hall School report,
that it appears to your committee the said president and trustees have fully complied with the provisions of
the act, entitled, An act for the promotion of literature within this state; that they have drawn from the treasury
the sum of eight hundred dollars, granted as a donation for the present year, which they have appropriated
to the payment of the salary to the principal of said school; that the said president and trustees have returned a
catalogue of the students in the said school, by which it appears that there are thirty-five students in the classical
department, nine in the French and Mathematical school, and thirteen in the introductory English school,
amounting in the whole to the number of fifty-seven.  Your committee are of opinion that the present flourishing 
situation of Charlotte-Hall school, under the fostering hand of the legislature, exhibits fair prospects of its
producing those blessings to individuals, and advantages to the community, which are the result of a seminary
succeeding equal to the wishes of its anxious and benevolent patrons.

Which was read.
    On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill prescribing the form of the bond to be hereafter given by the clerks
of the several counties of this state.  ORDERED, That Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Wilson and Mr. Chapman, be a
committee to prepare and bring in the same.
    The bill to incorporate the presbyterian church in Snow Hill, in Worcester county, was read the second time
by especial order, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    A petition from Hannah West, executrix of Stephen West, late of Prince-George's county, deceased, praying
the treasurer of the western shore may be directed to return to her the sum of £. 350, paid into the treasury by
her late husband agreeably to an act for calling out of circulation the quota of this state of certain bills of credit
issued by congress, &c. was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Lloyd, Mr. Mercer and Mr. Smith, of Baltimore,
to consider and report thereon.
    Mr. Mercer, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:
    THE committee of finance, in discharging the duties assigned them, have duly considered the several documents 
laid before the the house by the treasurer, auditor, trustee, and agent of the state, from which, and from other
information derived from the offices, they are authorised to submit the following abstract of the productive
funds of the state.
 
            
            Net 6 per cent. stock
            Three per cent. ditto,
            Deferred 6 per cent.

            Loan to the commissioners of Washington,
            Ditto to proprietors of Susquehanna canal,

            Exclusive of bonds installed and uninstalled, which are 
                reported as valid, amounting to
            Shares in the  `Patowmack company, yielding no immediate
                or certain profit,
            And the bank stock of this state in England, of the value
                of which no just estimate can be formed,
Dollars.
