The same Day vizt: the 14th: day of August as aforesd: Comrs: as aforesd:
The peticon of Graves Jarrett constable of Wiccocomoco Hundred Shewing how that being//
Sumoned to last June Court and find by order of Court according to Law for not makeing his
prsonall appeareance last march Court according to Act wch: he would willingly a don & is &
alwaise has been as ready as any other to prforme his Duty according to the best of his
Knowledge and understanding but by meer Ignorance Omitted that Time therefore yor: poore
and Ignorant peticoner humbly Craves that yor: Worships may be pleased to Comiserate his
poore condicon & remitt his fyne haveing Only Ignoramus to plead for hmselfe wch:
has been the Cheife and Only Cause Therefore hopes that yor: Worships will take it to yor
Serious Consideracon and remitt this your poore peticoners fyne as being the first & will pray
Whereupon it was the same Day Ordered by the Comissrs: aforesd: that his fyne be remitted
to the aforesaid Graves Jarrett as prayed &a:
Court adjounres for an hour The same Day Comrs: as aforesd:
Thomas Tull being bound to his behaviour enters his appearance &a:

The peticon of Sarah Driggers and the rest all Negroes Desireing that they might be putt out
of the list of Tytables from paying any Taxes as being free borne Negores Whereupon
it was the same day ordered that the four Women be exempted and that the men pay Taxes
for this yeare and that they bring a Certificate under the Ministers hands where thy formerly
did live or were borne that thy are ffree Negroes and baptized &a:

was ordered at this day to appeare & procure new securitty accordingly yor: peticonr: -------

which said Comand was at the same day That Whereas the abovesaid Heath was the
7th: day of August bound to his good behavior: by Edmond Beauchamp and Jno: Starrett
and James Allexander being bound for him in the presence of Wm: Coulborne David
Browne & Robert King Three of Lordpps Justices of the peace and quorum for this County
Now at this day (to witt) the 14th: day of August as aforesaid Came the aforesaid John
Heath in open Court as alsoe Tymothy Harney & John Connor the said John Heath stands
indebted to th Rtt: honoble the Lord propry: in the just Sume of fforty pounds Sterling Tymothy
Harny in the full Sume of Twenty pounds Sterling & John Connor: in the Sume of Twenty pounds
Sterl: to be leavyed on their goods Chattles Lands & Tennements &a:
The Condicon of the Above Recognizance being Such that if the Above bound John Heath sha--
and be of the good abearance as alsoe to keepe ye peace to his Lordpp and good people here
in this County resideing Expecially Towards Edmund Beauchamp & his ffamilly for One year
and a day & to make his prsonall appearnce every County Court dureing the said Tearm
and time that then the above Obligacon to be void otherwise to Stand in full force & vertue
// Court adjournes till to morrow morning 8th: of the Clock -
The 15th: day of August Anno 1688 Comrs: as aforesaid
The peticon of Sarah Macklaugh for her release of the peace but noe result made=

The peticon of Adam Heatch Sheweth
That Whereas your peticoner was by the Sheriff Somoned for to attend the Court as a Jury man
Last June Court but yor: peticoners hoggs breakeing into his Corne ffield in Soe much That your
peticoner was in Election to be much damnified & your peticoner did happen to Come one hour
to Late therefore your peticoner Craves his Excuse & will ever pray as in Duty bound
Upon which it was ordered the same Day that the aforesaid Adam Heatch be excused
