Whereupon the aforesd: Eliza: Smith appeares & ownes her fact & saies Edward Morgan
To be father of the Child upon which it was Ordered that the said Eliza: Smith have
Twelve Lashes on her bare back well laid on which was accordingly executed

At a grand Jury held for the body of this County the second Tuesday in March last past
Doe present & find that Rose Bryan Woman Servt: to John Bounds of this County hath most
Wickedly & shamefully comitted fornicaon & borne a bastard Child to the greate dishonor
of almighty God the greate Scandall & evill example of all his Lopps good people
Therefore his Lopps Attourney Craves Judgment agt: the said Rose according to Law
in that case provided &a James Sangster Cl-: Indti
Now at this day (to witt) the 13th: day of June anno 1688 came the aforesaid Rose
Bryan & owned her fact & saies that Patrick OConnellane is the father of her Child
Whereupon it was the same day that is to say the said 13th: day of June aforesaid
Ordered that the said Rose Bryan have fifteen lashes on her bare back well laid
on wch: was accordingly executed
And the Same day vizt the said 13th: day of June it was then further ordered that
John Round take the Child of the said Rose Bryan & keepe it untill it Comes of the Age
of 16 yeares & in the meane while to bring the said Child up in the feare of God & that he the -
Said Round who Stands bound for the behavior: of the said Rose Bryan pay all Charges &a:

Harris is the ffather of her Child which he did begett on her body whereupon it
was the same Day ordered that the aforesaid Eliza: Parker als Barker have Tenn
Lashes on her bare back well laid on which was accordingly executed
The Same Day Came Roger Barker & tender himselfe Security for the behavior: of the said
Eliza: as alsoe to pay all Charges wch: was accepted on by the Court
