Whereupon in Pursuance of the Said Act This Court orders that mr: ffrancis Jenckins gentl: &
present high Sherife of this County Doe Send forthwith for the Said weights Scales and other
materialls in the Said Act mentioned to the vallue of eight hundred pounds weight for
this County for every respective Towne which is for seaven Townes with lesser weights
proportionally with the fifty Sixes included in the said eight hundred pounds And the said
mr: ffrancis Jenkins Shall be paid as is mentioned by Act of Assembly for Soe Doeing &c.

And whereupon his Lopps: attorney Comes & Saith yt: Katherinne
Omulin now by the name of Katherinne Draper was Summoned to answr: unto the Rt:
honr:ble the Lord Propry: in that the Said Katherinne not Contented to have Committed the
horrible & Shamfull Sinn of fornicacon but Clandestinely & wickedly intending to Concente
the birth of a bastard Chilld Did the Same deny and to perpetate y wickedness did absent
herselfe from the Conversation of helpfull women whereby the Sd: Chilld is murthered
& dead his Lopps: attorney Craves Judgement agt: the said Katherin Omulin als: Draper
as in Law is in that Case provided &c Ja: Sangster Cl:Indit
The said Katherinne ownes her fact as being delivered of a bastard Chilld Still borne wch:
She Saith was begott on her body by major Collo: Waters Sonne in virga: but denies the Collatralle
part of the Inditement whereupon Thomas Pointer & Elizabeth Richards were Sworne
& exa: upon theire oathes Saith to the effect of ffrancis y wife of Thomas Poiter who
declared upon oath as ffolloweth before Capta: David Browne & mr: James Round Two
of his Lopps: Justices vizt The Depo: of ffrancis Pointer aged forty three or thereabouts
Saith That the wench by name as for her Surname I know it not was at the house
of yor: Deponent on a Sunday at night yor: Deponent being Sick with a feaver & Ague
and the Said wench was without the Doore of yor: deponents dwelling house did Cry out
out for helpe to a wench by name Geeles Mucklehaire & desired for her to Come &
helpe her but my husband awaking Called out to Giles doe you not hear the
woman my husband Calling so did awaken me the deponent then getting out
of my bed went to the woman brought her into my Chamber dwelling house of
yor: Deponent and with my own hands did deliver her of a man Chilld Still
borne or dead born And further yor: Depont: saith not/ ffrancis f Pointer marke
Memorandum that this day (vizt) the twentieth of January Ao: 1687 Came the above mentioned
ffrancis and made oath upon the holy Evangelists that the abovesaid was the truth & the
whole truth of what She knowes of Katherin Omulin being Delivered of a dead Chilld

sworne before us James Round
Geeles Macklegeer appeares being summoned who was exa: but not upon oath
This Cort: ordrs: That Katherin Qmulin Alias Draper have fifteene Lashes or Stripes
well laid on the bare back and afterwards ordered upon her peticon being with Chilld
to be remitted for present & ordrd: that the Sherife take her into Custody untill She gives Security
for behaviour duering pleasure of y Cort:
