Whereas by Act of assembly entituled A further Addicional Act To the Act for the advancm^t:
of trade: And to the Suplementary Act for the Same: It was enacted That from & after
the last day of August 1688 noe Stilliards Shall be used for the weighing any Tobacco
wares or marchandizes exeeding the weight of one hundred pounds in any of the Townes
or ports or places Authorised for Townes but Shall be weighted by weights & Scales And
to that end the Justices of each respective County Co^rt: was enjoyned forthwith to Send
for & procure at the Chardge of each respective County to be assessed in the County Leavy
Substantiall Scales and Lawfull Weights weighing upwards of Seaven hundred pounds
weight; with three moveable post to be Caried from place to place in the Towne &c and
this day to witt the Xiii^th: day of March Annoq: Do^m: 1687 The hon^r:ble The L^ds: Deputies
proclamacon bearing date the fourth day of february last past was at the Court house (the
Commission^rs: then in Court Sitting) Publikely proclaimed Touching the Same;
