The Condicon of this Obligacon is Such that if the within bound Joseph Boyce shall & will be
of the good behavior: & abearance towards all his Lordpps: good people and more Especially
In Sumersett County and shall & will make his personall appearance every Court here holden
and dureing pleasure as alsoe pay all officers ffees that then the above Obligacon to be
Void otherwise to remaine and be in full force &ca:

The Petition of Joseph Boyce shewing how that Major: Ambrose London has made //
Information to this Worpll: Court that your peticoner hath misdemeaned himselfe by many //
Scandelous and reproachfull speeches particularly agt: the Worspll Justices of this Court your peticonr
humbly Craves that the said Information may be proved by Some person of Creditt the Major: having
Already Offered a reward to Sweare falsely in this very Cause agt: your petr: as he can Appearrants
And the peticonr: will pray &t:
This Court haveing taken the premisses into Consideracon & whereby to have further inspection

// The Jurors: for the Rt: honoble: the Lord propry: being Sworne upon the holly Evangelist
At a grand Jury held for the body of this County the Second Tuesday in November last =
past doe present and finde that Robert Cattlin of this County planter hath in the mounth of
September Annog Domi 1687 upon the Sabbath Day did Comerce entertaine Deale & Truck =
as is specified in an Act of Assembly agt: dealeing Trucking entertaining or receiveing any
goods of Any Slave Servant or hireling belonging to Any person within this Province without
his or their Masters knowledge and Consent the said Cattlin as is said did entertaine the =
Mallatto Servant of Thomas Evernden upon the Sabbath Day & of him in the house of the
Said Cattlin did receive One bottle of brandy purloynd and Stolen from him the said Everdon
his master the said Cattlin Neither prohibitting the said Servt: (Comonly knowne or Called by the
Name of black Will) from frequenting his house or examining how he came by the =
Said brandy or acquainting the said Everdon Whereby the said Cattlin did Tacitely approve
Conive & encourage the said Mallatto to Steale and purloyne from his said Master wch: is a greate
Enjury and damage not Only by giveing evill example to others but agt: the Lawes & Institucons
of this Province his Lordpps Attourney Craves indgmt: may be entered agt: the Offendor: according to
Law in that Case provided the bottle of brandy vallued at ffifteen pounds of Tobacco - - - -
Came Robert Cattlin in his proper person and for plea pleads not guilty and for Treyall
putts himselfe upon the Countrey &t:
Upon which Comand was given to the sheriff of this County to cause to Come here Twelve good &
Lawfull men of his Bayliwick by whome the truth of the matter might be the better knowne
and who neither &t: to recognize &t: becausue as well &t: - - - -
Now here at this day (to witt) the 12th: day of June in the xiiiith: yeare of the Domion of
