The 11th: day of June 1689 109
The Peticon of Mabell Bounds desireing that a fyne of five hundred pounds of Tobacco
Laid on her might be remitted, but the said Mabell Bounds haveing Imediatly Comitted
Some Misdemeanors: in Court Sitting Ordered that the sheriff take her into his Custody -
and further Ordered that the said Mabell Bounds be fyned five hundred pounds of Tobao:
for her Insolency in Court, but upon Motion made to this Court by her husband John Bounds
As well for her Releasmt: as for the Remitment of her fyne it was then and there ordered
as alsoe Concluded and agreed to and with the said John Bounds that provided he would
make or Cause to be made A New ducking Stoole the same to be strong and Substantiall
and that at his owne Cost and Charges and that he keepe the said ducking stoole in good
Repaire dureing the space of six yeares from the date hereof and the said ducking -
Stoole to be put up neare the Court house where the ole ducking Stoole now stands -
That upon that Consideration his wife Mabell Bounds should be released as alsoe her fyne
Remitted as prayed
Came the aforesd: John Bounds and in Open Court did Oblidge himselfe in the penalty
of Three thousand pounds of Tobacco to this Worshipfull Court for to performe all the
Clauses and Articles above recited and that further he would have the said Ducking
Stoole up firme and Substantiall by the Second Tuesday in August Next &ca: - -

James Inglish Sumrsett County in Maryland Ss
// The Jurors: for the Rt: honoble: the Lord prop.ry at a grand Jury held the second -
Tuesday in November last past doe present and finde that James Inglish of this County
planter not haveing Any feare of God before his Eyes or respect to the Sabbath or Lords -
Day did take his gunn and goe into the Woods to an unlawfull game as hunting and then &
There did shoote and kill one young hogg unmarked and Contrary to Law the sd: Inglish
Did not Naile up the Ears but the same did Conceale as if it had been his owne proper
goods as marked Now his Lordpps Attourney comes and sayes that the said Inglish is -
guilty of Sabbath breaking and alsoe of hogstealing and Craves Judgment may be entered
According to Law - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Came James Inglish in his proper person and pleaded not guilty and for treyall put
himselfe of upon the Court
Whereupon it is day to with the 11th: day of June in the xiiiith: yeare of the Domion of the Rt:
honoble: Charles &c Annoge Domi 1689 Considered and Ordered by this Court that the said
James Inglish be fined according to the rules of Court for breach of Sabbath or Act
of Assembly = As alsoe that he give good and suffitient Security for his behavior: dureing pleasure
Came the aforesaid James Inglish with his Sureties Augustine Standford & Roger Burkam
and in Open Court did Acknowledge themselves to stand indebted Unto the Rt: honoble: the Lord
prop.ry vizt: the said James Inglish in the Sume of Tenn pounds Sterl: and Augustine
Standford and Roger Burkum in the Sume of five pounds Sterl: a peice to be Leavied
on their goods and Chattles Lands and Tennements for the use of the Lord propry: aforesd:
