And the defendt Anne Ackworth by her Attourney Henry Smith Commeth & defendeth the
force and injury &c And Saith that the plte hath no Cause of accon he having from y arivell

I the Subscriber for Avaluable Consideracon in hand recd by Two Thousand Two hundred pounds
of Tobacco in Caske received before the Signing hereof Doe assigne over all my right Title & Interest
of A Servant Called John Warner for seaven yeares from the Arrivall of the Shipp Called Isaack
& Benjamin to Richard Ackworth of his assignes as witness my hand this 30th of Janrs: 1676

Henry Hutson: Wm Layton Thomas Covington: Andrew Whittington & John Rowell
John Manlove : John Paramour: & Susanna the wife of William Gullet being Subpd on the
part of y plte appeare before the Cort & Jury and are Sworne ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
John Manlove Sworne Saith that he questioned Richard Ackworth how long the boy had to
Serve hath he an Indenture he Said he had but had agreed to Serve Seaven years but would
doe soe no more & further Saith not ; ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
John Paramour Sworne Saith he heard Richard Ackworth Say that the boy had an Indenture
for foure year & further Saith not; ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Susanna Gullett Sworne Saith that John Warner had an Indenture for four yeares
and the Captn Said he Coulld not Sell him for Longer time ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
And the Same day to witt the 9th: day of August Annoq Dom 1676 Came as well Jno Warner
by Thomas Poole his Attorney And Anne Ackworth by Henry Smith her Attourney as the
Said Jurors to witt Daniell Curtis: John Kirke: Tho. Tull Robert Cattlin Senr George Betts: John
King, Thomas Ball Henry Huttson: William Layton: Thomas Covington: Andrew Whittington
and John Rowell: who to Say the Truth being Summoned Impannelled & Sworne upon their
oathes Say they doe find for the plte: And thereupon this this Cort ordrs the Juries verditt to be
entered And that the Said John Warner be free And that the deft: pay the plaintiffe Corne
& Clothes according to Act of Assembly in such Cases made & Provided ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The Same day Commrs as afore
This day came Randall Revell & Thomas Gille before the Cort in their owne proper persons &
the Said Thomas Gille did acknowledge himselfe to Stand indebted unto Randall Revell the
Summe of five hundred thirty Two pounds of good Sound Marchantable Tobacco & Caske to
be paid to be paid unto the Said Randall Revell or his order at or before the tenth of october
next the bill read as ffolloweth vizt
This Bill bindeth me Thomas Gille of the County of Somrsett & Province of Maryland to
pay or Cause to be paid unto mr Randall Revell of y county & Province aforesaid the full & Just
Summe of five hundred thirty Two pounds of good Sound Marchantable tobacco & Caske Convenient
in the aforesaid County for a valuable Consideracon already recd or to y aforesaid Revells order:
at or before y Tenth day of october next ensueing the Date hereof to y performance of which
I doe binde me my heires executors admrs: or assignes firmly by these presents as witnes my
hand & Seale this 8h day of August Annoq Dom 1676 ~ ~ Thomas Gille (Seale)
