At A Cort: helld the 10th: of March Annoq Domini 1674
mr: William Stevens : mr: David Browne
present mr: James Jones . . . : mr: Nicholas Rice Commrs:
mr: Charles Ballard . : mr: James Dashiell
Sommersett Ss John Manlove was attached to answer the suite of
John Mallet in an accon of Trespas upon the Case
And the said John Mallet by his Attorney Henry Smith saith
That the said Manlove Did in the yeare 1673 Assume unto
himselfe for the procureing and paying all Dues for a patten
of three hundred Acres of Land taken up by the sd: Mallett
in Wiccocomoco for A valluable Consideracon in hand paid
unto the said Manlove but the said Manlove fraudulently
intending refuseth to procure the said patten according to
his Assumption whereby the said John is Damnified and
hath Dammadge to the vallue of three Thousand pounds of tob:
and there upon brings his Suite ; / ; ~ ~ ~ ~
