Sommersett Ss John ffeilld was Attached by vertue of A
warrant granted by mr: Will Stevens
to answer the Complainte of Thomas Evans
in an Accon of Slander and by mr: Stevens
bound over to Court, / ;
And the said Thomas by his Attorney Henry Smith
Saith That the said John did most malitiously
and with an evill intent Slannder the said
Thomas and his wife Casting forth many slannderous
and false reports on purpose to defame them and
to bring them under the Lash of the Lawe whereby
the said Thomas is Damnified and hath Dammadge
to the vallue of Three Thousand pounds of tobacco
And Caske and thereupon brings his Sute &c ;
Benjamin Cottman & John Winsor being
Summoned on the behalfe of the Deft: appeare
& Crave ordered for their Charges before they
were sworne wch: is granted by the Cort:
After Benjamin Cottman & John Winsor had
Deposed The plt: Craves a Jury ordered that A
