(21 The same day Commrs as afore
This ffollowing writing was produced in Cort: by Cornelius ffarth-
who desired the Cort: to take the deposicons of mr: William Stevens
& mr: James Weedon which was granted the writing in these words
John Alford ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
I -- der to heare that you refuse payment of the thousand pounds
of tobacco due to mrs: Anna Hack for transportacon up the bay
which you acknowledged before me about foure years agoe
to be due you knowe they were preindiced otherwise it hath
bin Long forborne and now to offer to pay it with A denyall
is unworthy, but I hope I have bin misinformed pray
doe what is honest, this with my love remembered I rest

The Deposicon of mr: William Stevens taken in Cort:
Sworne Saith That to the best of his remembrance the above named
John Alford did promise to pay to mrs: Hack then Widowe the
Thousand pounds of tobacco above mentioned for the Consideracon
of the use of her Sloop ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Philllip Berre personally appeares before the Cort: & bringeth
his Servant Hopkin Williams the Sd: Phillip Berre Complaines
that he runs away from him soe that he is Damnified through
his neglect & Carelessnes; After examinacon of the said
Hopkin Williams the Court found that he had absented himself
unlawfully from his masters Imploymt: (by his owne
Confession) twelve dayes; whereupon the Cort: orders that
the sd: servant Hopkin Williams doe serve his said Master
Phillip Berre or his assignes one hundred and twenty days
over and above his Service due to his said master; / ;
