Charles Ballard def^t personally appeare before the Co^rt: & Joyne issue
The S^d: Stephen Hill Complaineth that his masster whome he
had Served his full time of servitude denyeth to pay him
his Corne & Clothes according to Act of Assembly in such
Cases provided After some debate the Co^rt: found that
the S^d: Stephen Hill had Serve his full terme whereupon
the Co^rt: ordered that the late Servant Stephen Hill be
free from his S^d: master m^r: Charles Ballard And that
his late Master pay him Corne and Clothes according to
Act of Assembly in Such Cases provided. ~ ~ ~ ~

Whereas Martha Popley was p^r:sented by the Grand Jury of
Enquest in March last for bearing A bastard Chilld the said
Martha being Summoned by writt in the Suite of y R^t: hon^ble
y Lord Proprietary appeares in Co^rt: And Acknowledgeth
her fact; whereupon the Co^rt: orders that She be publickly whipped
or else pay five hundred pounds of tob: for A fine And that She
pduce Security for the bringing up of the said Chilld who
is named Samuall m^r: James Weedon engageth in Co^rt
to See the Chilld brought up without any satisfacon from
y County As alsoe ingageth that if in case the said Martha
doth not prduce payment of her fine of five hundred pounds
of tobacco this year m^r: James Weedon Ingageth to pay the
said five hundred pounds of tobacco for her y next year
