145 of our Soveraigne Lord King Charles the Second &c
Betweene the said Samuell Squire And Christopher
Newgent, the said Christopher Newgent ingaging to
serve the said Samuell Squire or his assignes
from the Day of the Date of the said Indenture until
the first and next arrivall of the Dove in Virginia
& after for and Duering the tearme of foure years
which Indenture is here produced in Cort: by the
plaintiff; Capta: Robert Pitt Commander in Chief
of the said Ship Called the Dove by order ffrom
Sam: Squire Sells the said Christopher Newgent
to the deft: Randall Revell; But the deft: Randall
Revell little regarding the Indenture hath refused
to Sett ffree the said Christopher Newgent and by
force Compells the said Christopher Newgent to
ffollow his Imployments to the great Detriment
and Damadge of the said Christopher Newgent, The
playntiff sayes his is Dampnified & hath Damadge
to the vallue of three thousand pounds of tobacco &
thereupon brings his Suite &c. ~ ~ ~ ~
The Deft: pleades and Saith he is not
ffree and procuceth this ffollowing
assignement which is read ~ ~
Know All men by these presents that I Robt
Pitt doe assigne and (make?) over unto Randall
Revell of the county of Sommersett gent": my
