standing contribution to the Congress by his clear analysis and un-
derstanding of our defense needs, " John F. Kennedy said recently.
Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson has noted that Dan Brewster's
"sincerity and ability have won the admiration of his colleagues in
both the House and the Senate. "

We here in Maryland, regardless of our party affiliation, have every
reason to be proud of Dan Brewster. His youth and his vigor hold
the promise of a long and illustrious career in public service. As a
veteran campaigner, I have been privileged to watch the rise of Dan
Brewster and, during the past year, I have had the honor of campaign-

Kennedy's appeal for support....

Affairs such as these require planning and many hours of hard
work. They symbolize the faith and confidence that the men and
women of the Democratic Party have placed in us as their standard
bearers. And, after having had the opportunity of observing men
such as Dan Brewster, Lou Goldstein, Tom Finan and Carlton
Sickles during the campaign, I can say unqualifiedly that these can-
didates merit your faith and confidence. They are hard workers who
recognize the value of teamwork. If one cannot appear at a function
because of a previous engagement, then the others represent him and
extend the absentee's good wishes....

In but a few days, these men once again will be traveling methodi-
cally throughout Maryland, visiting various communities and discus-
