said Lordships Governr As also his account for all fees Dues and Sums of
Money or Tobacco Due to any the People within this Province for any Sums
of money or Tobacco wherewith he the said Francis Holland was Intrusted
during the time of his Shrivalty for that present Year or to Such of them as
required the same Did pass and render by the Ninth Day of May next En-
sueing the Date of the Same Writing Obligatory And in all other things as
Sherriff of the said County of Baltemore Did well and truly behave himself
to all Persons During his Continuance in that office at Baltemore County
aforesd And this he is ready to verifie Wherefore he prays Judgment if the
Aforest Attorney Generall his Action afsa against him to have Ought etc:
And the aforest attorney Genll of the said Lord Propry Saith that by
Anything prealledged from maintaining the Action Aforest against the
aforest John Stokes He Ought not to be Barred because Protesting that the
said Francis Holland hath not Observed Performed fulfilled or kept any
of the Articles Clauses or things in the Condition aforest Specified for Plea
or replication The same attry Genll for the afsd Lord Propry Nevertheless
saith that the same Francis Holland was and Continued High Sherriff of
Baltemore County aforesaid from the aforesd Eighth Day of June Anno Dom:
Seventeen Hundred Twenty and One Untill the Eighth Day of November
Anno Dom: Seventeen Hundd twenty and two at Baltemore County aforesd
And that on the first Day of August [831] Anno Domini Seventeen Hun-
dred and Seventeen the aforest Thomas Bordley Esqr Was and Ever after
untill the fourteenth Day of September Anno Dom: Seventeen Hundred
twenty and One hath Continued one of the said Lord Propry his Officers.
To Witt Commissary Generall for this Province of Maryland To Witt at
Baltemore County afst the Same Thomas Bordley thereon the aforesd first
Day of August Anno Dom: Seventeen Hundred and Seventeen being law-
fully Constituted and Admitted Commissary Generall of the same Province)
And the aforest attorney Generall further saith that there Arose and became
Due to the said Thomas Bordley by Virtue of his office of Commissary Gen}J
aforesaid on the twenty fourth Day of December Anno Dom: Seventeen
Hundred twenty and One at the County aforest Sundry fees Amounting to
the Sum of Nineteen thousand Nine Hundred Ninety and Six pounds of
Tobacco from Sundry Persons then living in Baltemore County Aforesd
WKich Sum of Tobacco by the same Thomas Bordley the said Francis Hol-
land as Sherriff of the same County then and there was Intrusted to Collect
and Account for According to the Same Francis Holland his Duty of high
Sherriff of the Said County And the Condition aforest And the aforest attor-
ney Genll further Saith that on the afst first Day of August Anno Dom:
Seventeen Hundred and Seventeen the afsd Thomas Bordley was and Ever
after Untill the fourteenth Day of September Anno Dom: Seventeen Hun-
dred and Twenty One hath Continued the said Lord Propry his attorney
Genll of the Province aforest And One of the Attorneys of the Provinciall
