Sums of Money or Tobacco Wherewith the said Sherriff Shall be Intrusted
during the time of his Shrivalty for this Present or to Such of them as Shall
Require the same Shall pass and render by the Tenth Day of May Next En-
sueing the Date hereof And in all other things as Sherriff of the County of
Baltemore shall behave himself Well and Honestly to all Persons According
to the Best of his Power Skill and knowledge then this Obligation to be Void
and of none Effect or Else to Stand in full force Strength and Virtue. Which
being read and heard the said John Stokes by his attorney Afs^d Prays leave to
imparle hereunto untill next Court and he hath it And the same Day is
Given to the said Mich^ll Howard Esq^r attorney Generall Who etc: Also.

At which said next Court To Witt the Sixteenth Day of May Anno Dom:
1727 Comes Again as well the said Mich^ll Howard Esq^r attorney Generall who
etc: As the said John Stokes by his Attorney Afores^d And the Said John
Stokes by his said attorney Prays further leave to imparle hereunto untill
next Court And he hath it And the same Day is given to the said Mich^ll How-
ard Esq^r attorney Gen^ll Who etc: Alsoe.

1727 Comes again as well the Said Midi^ll Howard Esq^r att^ry Gen^ll Who etc:
as the said John Stokes by his attorney afores^t And the said John Stokes by

And he hath it And the same Day is Given to Mich^ll Howard Esq^r attorney

1728 Comes again As well the said Mich^ll Howard Esq^r attorney Gen^ll who
etc: as the said John Stokes by his attorney afs^d and the said John Stokes by

and he hath it And the same Day is Given to the said Mich^ll Howard Esq^r
Att^ry Gen^ll who etc: alsoe At which said Next Court To Witt the 15^o* Day
of October Anno Dom: 1728 Comes again As well the said Mich^a Howard
Esq^r Att^ry Gen^ll who etc. As the said John Stokes by his attorney afores^d And
the said John Stokes by his said attorney as before Defends the force and
Injury When etc: And saith that the attorney Gen^ll for the said Lord Propry
the Action afs^d against him to have or Maintain Ought not Because he saith
that the said Francis Holland hath Always from the time of Making the Writ-
ing afs^d And during his Continuance in the office afores^d well and truely
served his said Lordship in the office of High Sherriff of the County of Balte-
more And Did in all things well and truly Execute the same office And also
Did render to his Lordship and other the officers a true faithfull and perfect
Account of all And Singular his said Lordships Rights and Dues And to his
officers a just and true account of their fees that he the said Francis Holland
was Intrusted with by his said Lordship and other his officers within this
Province to receive and Collect and his Accounts to his said Lordship and his
Governour for the fines and forfeitures and other Dues belonging to his
