DeP Do you know by Vertue of What Warrant the afd Lands was taken by
the Deponant Saith I know not. These Interrogatories taken before us the
Subscribers the 7th Day of July 1718.

Interrogatories to be ministred to Wittnesses to be produced on the part
and behalfe of Mary and Anne Seward Daughters of Wm Seward by Benj"
Woodward and uxr Comp" and Thomas Hicks Deft in a Cause Depending
in the High Court of Chancery etc. as followeth.

Imprimis. Do you know Mary and Anne Seward Daughters of William
Seward Deced and Did you know George Seward the Supposed father of Wm
Seward. This Deponent Saith that he knows Mary and Anne Seward the
reputed Daughters of Wm Seward who was the reputed Son of George Seward.
— Item. How long agoe is it Since you knew the afd George Seward and Like-
wise do you know any thing of his Surveying or Taking up Two Tracts of
Land Lying Near the head of Chiconacomacco Called Secter and Cumber-
lake. This Deponent Saith that about forty years or thereabouts he Was
Acquainted with the afd George Seward Wch was the reputed Father of the
afd Wm Seward and that this George Seward took up two Tracts of Land
Neare the head of Chiconacomaco Called Secter and Cumberlake as he was
informed [663] by Bartholomew Ennalls who Shewed him the first bounded
tree (which was a Red Oake) of the afd Secter and Camberlake and Said that
he Shewed him the afd Seward the Two Tracts of Lands to Take up and
further that Thomas Pattison who was then Surveyor Shewed him the Same
Tree and Said it was the first bounded tree of the afd Tracts of Lands and
that he Surveyed the Same for the afd Seward and that Either the afd Ennalls
or Pattison Shewed him a Second bounded tree which he Said was the Second
bounded tree of Secter. Item. Doe you Know who att present Lines upon
the afd Lands and is in Possession thereof. And further to these Interroga-
tions he Cannot Depose The Execution of this Comission doth appear in
Certain Schedules to this Comission Annexed. Depositions of Wittnesses
taken at the Town of Cambridge in the County of Dorchester on Wednes-
day the Twenty Eight Day of August in the year of our Lord God one Thou-
sand Seven hundred and Seventeen before Capt" Tobias Pollard John Meek-
ins and John Kirke Gentm by Vertue of a Comission out of the High Court
of Chancery to us Directed for the Examination of Wittnesses.
