the Jurors thereupon Discharged from rendering their Verdict in the Said

The Severall foregoing Depositions Sworne to before us the Subscribers
the i9th July 1718 as Wittness our hands and Seales

Interrogatories to be ministred to Thomas Brannock Senr aged Forty two
years or thereabouts produced on the part and behalf of Mary and Anne
Seward Daughters of William Seward by Benja Woodward and Uxr Comp"8
and Thomas Hicks Defendant in a Case depending in the High Court of
Chancery etc. as follows

[661] Imprimis. Do you know Mary and Anne Seward Daughters of Wm
Seward Deced and did you know George Seward the Supposed Father of
Wm Seward. This Deponant Saith that he doth know Mary and Anne Seward
the Reputed Daughters of Wm Seward but that he did not know George
Seward the Reputed Father of Wm Seward. Item. What do you know or
have been informed of George Sewards taking up of Lands at Chickenaco-
mico. About Eighteen years ago I had Some discourse with Thomas Pattison
Senr and I asked him Whether he knew that George Seward had taken up
Some Lands at Chickenacomico, and Thomas Pattison Said Yes he had for
he was Surveyor then at that Time. And I further asked whether Wm Seward
the Son of George Seward had any Rights to those Lands and he Said no he
thought not for there Was no Warrant appeared upon Record in the office.
I asked him how that happened. He told me the Warrant Was granted from
my Lord Baitemores own hand and So did not appear upon Record because
Saith Thomas Pattison it did not Come out of the office So Was not made a
Record at the Coming out and further he Saith that the Said George Seward
Was then at Work for the Lord Baltemore.

Item. Do you know any thing of this Warrant Relateing of George Seward.
I the Said Deponant Saith as Concerning this Matter I went to Anne Pattison
the Wife of the Said Thomas Pattison Deceased With the Said Wm Seward
and asked her for the Said Warrant and She Said he Should have it and
brought out a box of Papers and looked for it but Could not find it but prom-
ised Wm Seward when ever She found it he Should have it

Attested before us the Subscribers the Seventh Day of July Anno Dom

To His Excellency Jno Hart Esqr keeper of the Great Seale of the Prov-
ince of Maryland

May it please your Excellency to be Advertised by us whose names are
