Here to fore To witt as it appears in the Records and Entries of this
Court To witt the Sixth day of Augt Anno Dni 1722 his Lordships Justices
of the Provl Court Transmitt to his Lordships Governour and Council of
the Province afd Sitting as a Court of Appeals and Errrs the following
Record on an appeale made by Jonathan Forward by Daniel Dulany his
Attorney from the Provl Court The tenour of which follows in these
Words Vizt

MARYLAND ss In the Records and proceedings of the Provincial Court
of Maryland Amongst other things is thus Contained Vizt

MARYLAND ss. At a Provincial Court held at the City of Annapolis in
the County of Annarundell for the Province of Maryland on the first Tues-
day of Aprill being the 4th Day of the Same Month in the Sixth year of the
Dominion of Charles absolute Lord and Proprietor of the provinces of Mary-
land and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore etc. Annoque Domini 1721
Present: The Honourable [609] Col Thomas Addison; Col Richard Tilgh-
man; James Stoddart Esqr; Natha Hinson Esqr; Wm Lock Esqr, Justices
Stephen Warman Sher. Vachel Denton Clk

[T:B:] Gilbert Powlson v Jonathan Forwards Garnishees

Memd The plft Sued out his Lordships writt of Attachment the Tenour
of which follows in these words Vizt

MARYLAND ss. Charles Absolute Lord and propry of the provinces of
Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore etc. To the Sher of Ann-
arundell County Greeting we Command you that you Attach any the Goods
Chatties Rights or Creditts which were of Jonathan Forward of Annarundell
County Merchant if they Shall be found in your Bailywick to the Value of
Six hundred pounds Sterl and Thirty Thousand Pounds of Tobacco and
when you have the Same So Attached or any part thereof the Same in your
Custody Safe keep So that you have the Same before the Justices of our Pro-
vinciall Court to be held at Annapolis the first Tuesday of April Next to
Satisfye unto Gilbert Powlson Mariner as well the Sum of Six hundred
Pounds Sterl and Six Thousand four hundred and fifty one Pounds of To-
bacco Certain Damages by the Said Gilbert Powlson recovered Against him
before the Justices of our Said Court on the 20th day of September last as the
