premises in manner and forme above declared and set forth and of this he
puts himself upon the Countrey and the plantiff Alsoe.

Whereupon Comand was given to the Sheriff of Ann Arundell County
that he cause to come here twelve etc. by whom etc. and to recognize etc.
because as well etc. and who neither etc. And the Sherriff came and made
returne of his precept that he had here ready in Court twelve etc. lawfull
men of his Ballywick according thereby as he was commanded Vizt John
Gressam John Hillen William Griffith John Sollars Thomas Joce John
Athey Richard Harwood Edward Sweatnam Francis Armstrong Joseph Wil-
son Thomas Huggins and Thomas Bruff who being Elected tryed and
Sworne to speak the truth concerning the premises and having heard and
fully Understood and considered the same upon their oaths do say Wee find
for the defendant.

Whereupon it is this twentieth day of August 1695 considered by the
Court here that the said William Coursey take nothing by his process afore-
said and that the Defendant go thereof without day and it is further con-
sider'd by the said Court that the said Richard Bishop recover against the
said William Coursey his damages costs and charges in this behalf sustained
laid out and expended to the summe of .... by the Justices here awarded
according to the forme of the Statute etc. And the plantiff for his false
clamour in mercy etc.

Afterwards to Witt the thirteenth day of Aprill in the nineth Year of
her Majesty's reigne etc. Annoque Domini 1710 The Record and process of
the plea aforesaid with all things thereunto [192] relating by Virtue of here
Majestys certaine Writt for correcting of Errors whose date is the fifth day
of November in the Eighth Year of her said Majestys Reigne etc. Annoque
Domin[i] 1709 To the Justices of her Majestys Provinciall Court directed
to the said William Coursey relating before the president and Councill of
her said Majestys Province at their next meeting to hear Appeals and Writts
of Error are sent In Witness whereof the seale of the said Provinciall Court
is hereunto Affixed, per Jno Beale Clerk [Loc Sigil Provinc']

Command was given the Sheriff of Queen Anns County that by good
and lawfull men of his ballywick he make known to Richard Bishop Son and
heir of Richard Bishop deceas'd that he be and appear before her Majestys
president and Councill at the City of Annapolis on the Sixth day of March
next to hear the Record and process aforesaid and the Errors Assigned
thereon if to him it shall seem meet and that he should have then there
his precept with the Names of the persons before whom he shall make the
same known, thereupon came the said Sherriff and made returne of his said
precept that he had made known to the said Richard Bishop Son and heir of
the said Richard Bishop to be and appear at the time and place in and by
his said precept required before William Whittington and John Marsh two
good and lawfull men of his ballywick.
