1762.
Assessments shall be respectively made by the Justices aforesaid, in proportion to the Taxable Inhabitants
of the said Parish of Coventry, residing in their several and respective Counties; and
when collected, shall be paid by the respective Sheriffs to such Vestry, &c. to be by them received
and applied to the Uses aforesaid.  (4.)  The Inhabitants of Coventry Parish may discharge the
said Tax in Current Money, in the same Manner as they are now enabled to pay and discharge
the Public or County Levy.

An ACT continuing an Act, entitled, An Act for repairing the Public
    Roads in this Province;
and the Supplementary Act thereto.  Lib. H.S.

An Act impowering the Justices of Charles County, to levy on the Taxable Inhabitants
    of
Port-Tobacco Parish, in the said County, a Quantity of Tobacco,
    for the Uses therein mentioned.  Lib.

    Viz.  25000 lb of Tobacco, together with the Sheriff's Salary of 5 per Cent for Collection,
to be assessed by two equal annual Assessments on the taxable Inhabitants of the said Parish, to
be collected by the Sheriff, in the same Manner as other Parish Assessments are by Law directed
to be levied and collected; and paid to the Vestry-men, &c. who are impowered to lay out the
same in Building and fully Compleating an Addition to the Chapel of Ease belonging to the said
Parish.

An Act for the speedy and effectual Publication of the Laws of this Province;
    and for the Encouragement of Jonas Green, of the City of Annapolis, Printer.

    N.B. 
By this Act, there was a certain Annual Allowance to be made to Mr. Green, in each
of the several and respective Counties at the Laying the Levies, to be paid to him, or his Order,
by the several Sheriffs, free from any Deduction, (amounting in the whole,) for each Year
wherein there should happen to be a Session of Assembly, to 279 l.  But in case it should so happen,
that in any Year during the continuance of the Act (which had Duration only to the 2d
April 1765, and then expired) that there should be no Session, that then there should be allowed
him a lesser Sum in each of the several Counties, &c. amounting to 210 l.  To entitle him to
the first mentioned Allowance, he was obliged to produce a Receipt, or Certificate from the
Sheriff of Anne-Arundel County, of his having delivered to him, the Printed Laws of each Session
within Three Months after the End thereof; and the Votes and Proceedings within Four
Months:  The Number of both Laws and Votes being therein ascertained:  And the Sheriffs
were obliged to Forward them as Public Letters directed to be forwarded.
    By §. IX, of this Act, the Commissioners of the Loan-Office were directed to Pay him, for
Public Services for which he had no Allowance, the Sum of 500 l. out of the Sum of
1992 l. 12 s. paid into the said Office by virtue of the Act, entitled, An Act for his Majesty's Service.
