An Act impowering the Justices of Baltimore County Court,
to assess and levy a
Sum of Current Money; and for other Purposes therein
mentioned. Lib. H.S.

N.B. By
this Act, (1.) The Justices of Baltimore County Court
are impowered to assess and
levy on the Taxable Inhabitants of St. Paul's parish, in the said
County, 600 l. Current Money,
together with the Sheriff's Salary of 5 per Cent for Collection, at Three
equal annual Assessments,
in the same Manner, &c. as the County Charges are usually assessed
and levied. (2.) Certain
Commissioners are appointed and impowered to purchase in Fee, in the Name
of the Rector,
Vestry-men and Church-wardens of the said Parish, Two Acres of Land at
a Place known by
the Name of TL, and thereon to erect a Chapel of Ease to the aforesaid
Parish, &c. (3.) The
said Commissioners are impowered to draw on the Sheriff of Baltimore
County, from Time to
Time, as Occasion shall require, for so much of the said 600 l.
as they, or the major Part of
them, shall think necessary, towards Satisfaction or Payment for the Purchase
of the said Two
Acres of Land, and for building, finishing, and compleating the Chapel
of Ease aforesaid.
(4.) The said Chapel, when built, to be deemed a Chapel of Ease for
the said Parish, and Divine
Service shall be performed by the Incumbent, for the Time being, every
Third
Sunday; and the same Chapel of Ease, to be constantly kept in Repair at
the Charge of the Parish
of St. Paul's aforesaid for ever.

N.B. By
this Act, (1.) The Vestry-men and Church-wardens of the said
Parish are required,
as soon as conveniently may be, to contract, &c. for the building and
finishing a new
Church on or near the Place where the Parish Church now stands. (2.)
The Justices of Anne-Arundel
County are required, on Application to them made by the Vestry, &c.
to levy on the
Taxable Inhabitants of the said Parish, by two equal ASsessments in the
two next ensuing Years,
130,000 lb Tobacco, together with the Sheriff's Salary of 5 per Cent for
collecting the same, &c.
to be by him paid to the said Vestry, and by them be
applied to the building and finishing the
said new Church, and to no other Purpose whatsoever.

An ACT to establish a Market, at the Market-house in Chester-Town,
in Kent
County, and for the Regulation of the said Market.

N.B. By this Act, (1.)
Wednesdays and Saturdays in each Week, to be held as Market
Days within the said Town: And all Victuals and Provisions brought
to the said Town for Sale,
upon those or any other Days, shall be carried to the Market House, and
there Sold to the Inhabitants
at the stated Market Hours, viz. from any Time in the Morning
till Twelve at Noon,
except Fish and Oysters brought by Water, Beef by the Quarter, or larger
Quantities, and Pork
by the Hog or Hogs. (2.) No Inhabitants or Others shall presume
to buy any Victuals or Provisions
whatsoever, bringing to and within one Mile of the Town, or already
brought there for
Sale (except as before excepted) either on Market Days, or other Days in
the Week during
Market Hours, at any other Place whatsoever but at or in the said Market
House, under Penalty |
