1754.
CHAP. II.
An Act impowering the Justices of Frederick County Court, to levy on the Taxable
    Inhabitants of the said County, a Sum of Current Money for the
Uses 
    therein mentioned.  Lib.
H.S.  fol. 141.
    George Gordon, Esq; late Sheriff, having accounted with the Magistrates for 118 l. Current
Money, arising from Ordinary Licences and Fines on Breach of the Act for regulating Ordinaries,
which the Magistrates were of Opinion belonged to the County, this Act impowered
the Magistrates to levy the said Sum on the County, to be paid to the said George Gordon, &c.

March 1754.
At a Session of ASSEMBLY, begun and held at
    the City of Annapolis, the 8th Day of May, and
    ended the 30th Day of the same Month, in the 4th
    Year of the Dominion of the Right Honourable 
    FREDERICK, absolute Lord and Proprietary of the 
    Provinces of Maryland and Avalon, Lord Baron of
    Baltimore, &c. Annoq; Domini, 1754:  The following
    Laws were Enacted.

CHAP. III.
An additional Supplementary Act to the Act, entitled, An Act for amending the
    Staple of Tobacco, for preventing Frauds in his Majesty's Customs, and for the
    Limitation of Officers Fees.  Lib.
H.S.  fol. 142.  EXP.
Passed 30th
May 1754.
1753, ch. 22, which expired the 1st December 1763.

 
CHAP. IV.
An Act to make it Penal to Forge or Counterfeit the Bills of Credit of Pennsylvania,
    New-York, East or West Jerseys, or the Three Lower Counties on
   
Delaware, called New-Castle, Kent, and Sussex; or to utter or tender the
    same in Payment within this Province, knowing them to be such.  Lib. 
H.S.

CHAP. V.
An Act for building a Prison in Frederick County.  Lib. H.S.  fol. 146.  OBS.
   
By this Act the Commissioners of the Loan Office were directed to pay, on Demand, to the
        Justices of Frederick County, 400 l. in Bills of Credit, for the Purpose aforesaid.

CHAP. VI.
An Act to enable the Justices of St. Mary's County, to levy a Quantity of Tobacco
    on the Taxable Inhabitants of
King and Queen Parish, in the said County,
    for the Purposes therein mentioned.  Lib. H.S.  fol. 147.  OBS.
Ditto.
Viz. 22000 lb Tobacco for Repairing Chaptico Church.

 
CHAP. VII.
An Act impowering the Rector, Vestry-men and Church-wardens of Port-Tobacco
    Parish in Charles County, for the TIme being, to purchase a Quantity
    not exceeding Two Acres of Land, and thereon to build a Chapel of Ease in the
    said Parish; and to impower the Justices of the said County to levy on the Taxable

    Inhabitants of the said Parish, a Quantity of Tobacco for the Uses therein
    mentioned.  Lib. H.S.  fol. 148.  OBS.
   
Viz.  11000 lb Tobacco in November 1754, and 33000 lb Tobacco in November 1755, exclusive
of the Sheriff's Salary, to be paid to the Vestry, &c. and by them be applied to the aforesaid
Purchase and Building, at a Place called the Ivy-Spring, on a Branch called the Dressing-Branch;
near the Pines, &c.

CHAP. VIII.
A Supplementary Act to an Act, entitled, An Act for the speedy and effectual
    Publication of the Laws of this Province; and for the Encouragement of
Jonas
    Green of the City of Annapolis, Printer.  Lib. H.S.  fol. 149. OBS.
    N.B.  This Act impowered the several Sheriffs to pay Mr. Green the Money levied for Printing,
&c. the Votes of October Session 1753, which had not been delivered according to the Directions
of the Original Act, by the First of March last.
