Preamble.
The present
Rt Honble
Lord Proprietor
invested
with the same
Power given
by the Act of
1733, ch. 6,
to his late
Lordship. |
WHEREAS the late Right Honourable Charles Lord Baltimore,
Proprietor
of this Province, by an Act, entitled, An Act for emitting
and making Current Ninety Thousand Pounds Current Money of Maryland,
in Bills of Credit, had the Trust and Care of superintending and
directing
the Conduct of the Trustees in London, mentioned in the said
Act, or to
be thereafter appointed, which Trustees were by that Act directed, to take
his Lordship's Instructions in all Matters relating to the purchasing Bank
Stock, and all other Matters relating to the Transactions therein directed:
And
whereas, by the Death of his Lordship, the Purchasing of Bank Stock, and
other Proceedings of the said Trustees may be retarded; this General ASsembly,
in full Hopes and Confidence of the Honour, Integrity, and Good-Will
of his present Lordship, to his Tenants of this Province, humbly request
his
Lordship to accept of the Trust, Power, and Authority, so by the said Act
lodged in his Noble Father: And likewise humbly pray that it
may be Enacted:
II. And be it
Enacted, by the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary, by and
with the Advice and Consent of his Lordship's Governor, and the
Upper and Lower
Houses of Assembly, and the Authority of the same, That from
and after the End
of this Session of Assembly, the Right Honourable Frederick, Lord
Baron of
Baltimore, Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland
and Avalon, shall
be, and he is hereby, invested with all and singular the Powers and Authorities
in the said Act, entitled, An Act for emitting and making Current Ninety
Thousand
Pounds Current Money of Maryland in Bills of Credit, given to
his late
Lordship the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary of this Province.
