Friday 2d. October 1789

The Council met.

Present His Excellency John Eager Howard Esquire

The Hon'ble. John Davidson

William Hindman

Josias Carvel Hall

John Kilty Esquires

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Randolph Brandt Latimer Ten pounds,
eight shillings and four pence for one Months Salary as Deputy Auditor due the 1st. June last,
and also the further sum of Forty one pounds, thirteen shillings and four pence for two Months
Salary as Auditor General due the 1st. of August last.

James Jackson formerly a Subject of the King of Great Britain appeared before the Board
and Voluntarily made, repeated and subscribed a Declaration of his Belief in the Christian
Religion, and also took repeated and subscribed the Oath prescribed by the "Act for Naturaliza-
tion," wherefore he is now become a Subject of this State.

In Council October 2d. 1789

Upon the payment of between Eight and Nine hundred pounds, the Sales of Samuel
Groome Osborn's, and his Securities property for the Collection of the taxes in Harford
County for the year 1786, will be postponed until [p. 103] the 23d. instant of which
the Agent will be directed to give Notice.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.

In Council October 3d. 1789

Robert Amos one of the Collectors of the Tax for Harford County, having paid Several
Sums of Money into the Treasury since his property has been taken under execution: Ordered
that the Sales of his property and that of his Securities be postponed 'till the first Tuesday of
November next.
