[p. 101] Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Thomas Brooke Hodgkin five
shillings, due him for recording a Bond from Worthington & Yates to the Governor for the use
of Thomas Walley per Account rendered.
That the said Treasurer pay to James Royston five pounds, eleven shillings and Six pence
due him per Account passed by the Auditor General.
That the said Treasurer pay to Josias Carvel Hall Esqr. Thirty seven pounds, ten shillings
for one quarter's Salary as a Member of the Council due in August last.
That the said Treasurer pay to John Shaw Fifty pounds to be applied in purchasing Wood
for the use of the public, and also the further sum of Thirty pounds for the purpose of finishing
the Necessary to be by him accounted for.
In Council October 1st. 1789
Whereas it is set forth by the Petition of Nicholas Rogers, James Alien, George Screw,
Richard Hall, and James Simpson of Baltimore County, accompanied with a transcript from
the Records of the Criminal Court of the Said County, that Francis Travelet, was presented
and indicted for selling Liquors without Licence, and fined six hundred pounds of Tobacco,
that being unable to pay the fine and Costs, Execution hath issued against him, and he is now
Confined in the Goal of the said County, that from their personal knowledge of him he has
ever maintained the Character of an honest, industrious, and inoffensive man, and earnestly
pray that he may be restored to his wife and Children, And three of the Justices of the said
Court having recommended him to the Compassion of Government: The Board in Consid-
eration of all the Circumstances set forth by the Petitioners do hereby order and direct that the
said fine of six hundred pounds of Tobacco be remitted
