[p. 79] Saturday 30TH. May 1789

The Council met.

Present his Excellency John Eager Howard Esquire

The honorable John Davidson

Josias C. Hall

John Kilty Esquires

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Benjamin Nicholson Esqr. Sixty two
pounds, ten shillings for One quarter's Salary as Judge of the Court of Admiralty due the
1st. instant.

That the said Treasurer pay to Colo. Uriah Forrest Thirty-three pounds, fifteen shillings
for three Months half pay due him the 1st. instant.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.

Monday 1st. June 1789

The Council met.

In Council June 1st. 1789

Sufficient Evidence having been produced to this Board that Messrs. Stewart and
Plunket of Baltimore town lost in the Storm of the 24th. July last, two thousand seven
hundred and two and an half bushels of Salt, four hundred and twenty eight bushels thereof
imported in the Brigantine Conyngham, and the residue, two thousand two hundred and
seventy four and an half bushels in the Brig Ross Packet the Duties thereon having been
secured to be paid to the Naval Officer of the fourth District. Ordered that the said Naval
Officer be and he is hereby required to discount with or refund to the said Stewart and
Plunket the duties on the said Salt.

[p. 8o] Tuesday 2d. June 1789

The Council met.

Present as on Yesterday.

Agreeably to a Resolution of the House of Delegates of the 23d. December last,
Randolph Brandt Latimer produces to the Board a Bond executed by him, together with
John Davidson and Uriah Forrest his Securities for the due execution of the powers and
authorities given to him by the said Resolution, which is approved and ordered to be filed.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.
