making Oath that the said Lists as far as their knowledge extends, are truly Stated, and that
they have used their utmost endeavors to obtain true statements from their Deputies.

On their compliance with the above mentioned Conditions the Board will Suspend the
Sales of their property and that of their Securities until the fifteenth Day of September next.

In Council May 29th. 1789

William Ady of Harford County by his Petition to the Board sets forth that he became
Security for a certain Samuel Corbit in a Recognizance of forty pounds to indemnify the
County from the charge of Maintaining a bastard child of the said Corbit's, That the child
has since become a charge upon the County to the amount of eight pounds, ten shillings and
that thereupon the Petitioner's Recognizance became forfeited, and he was committed therefor,
and prays a remission of the forfeiture upon his reimbursing the County the sum expended
for the maintenance of the said Child and remaining liable for any future Charge, And Whereas
it appears from a Certificate from under the hands and Seals of John Love, Thomas Bond and
William Smith three of the Justices of Harford County that the said William Ady did on the
fifth Day of this instant make full Satisfaction for the expences the County was at to the
date of the Certificate for the allowances made Martha Anderson for the Support of the said
Child and did also on the Same Day enter into Recognizance to Save harmless the County
from the Maintenance of the said Child, and also from a Certificate from under the hand of
Samuel Groome Osborn that the said William Ady had paid him the Sum of eight pounds
being the allowance granted by the County to the said Martha Anderson—The Board in con-
sideration of the Petitioner's having reimbursed the County the money expended for the
maintenance of the aforesaid Child, and having entered into a Recognizance to Save harmless
the County in future from the maintenance of the said Child, do direct that the said for-
feiture of forty pounds be remitted.
