In Council May 27th. 1789

Sufficient Evidence having been produced to this Board, that James Clark of Baltimore
Town lost in the Storm of the 24th. July 1788 Six thousand eight hundred and forty nine
bushels Salt, on which the duties had been secured to be paid to the Naval Officer of the
fourth District at the Port of Baltimore. Ordered that the said Naval Officer be and he is
hereby required to discount with, or refund to the said James Clark, the Duties on the said
Six thousand, eight hundred and forty nine bushels of Salt.

In Council May 28th. 1789

James OBryan late Sheriff of Queen Anns County by his Petition to this Board sets
forth that in the year Seventeen hundred and eighty seven a certain Edward Aldridge and his
wife Margaret Aldridge were fined by the County Court of said County, nine pounds, seven
shillings and six pence for several Assaults and Batteries, that being unable to pay the said
fines they were committed to Goal, and by means of the insufficiency thereof escaped; they
were taken and returned to the custody of the Petitioner, who not having a proper place of
confinement they again made their escape and have not since been apprehended—that the
said fines are demanded of the said James OBryan who will be compelled to pay them out
