226 "Journal of the Council"

the Act of Assembly therein mentioned", must be filled by the election of a person residing
within the third District of this State as designated by the said Act. We do therefore in Pur-
suance of the Powers vested in Us by the Constitution of the United States and by the aforesaid
Act of Assembly, authorize and command you to hold an Election for a person to represent this
State in the said House of Representatives in your said County of Ann Arundel &ca. on
Wednesday the twenty sixth day of this present Month at the usual place of holding elections
And that after due notice given, you then and there attend conduct regulate and make return to
the said election agreeably to the directions of the aforesaid Act of Assembly. Given in Council
at the City of Annapolis on the 13th. Day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and ninety one.

The Council adjourned till tomorrow morning.

Friday 14th. October 1791

The Council met.

Present as on yesterday.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to John Welsh Eleven shillings and three
pence for a pair of Shoes for Thomas Walley per Account passed by his Excellency and the
Auditor General,

That the said Treasurer pay to Jubb Fowler nine pounds, seven shillings and six pence for
the Board of Thomas Walley per Account passed as aforesaid,

That the said Treasurer pay to George Johnson Thirty nine pounds, one shilling and eight
pence as an Assistant to C. Richmond Esqr. Agent per Account passed by the Auditor General.

Commission issued to William Goldsmith elected Sheriff of Ann Arundel County.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning,
