Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Jonathan Beard Fourteen pounds, ten
shillings and Eleven pence specie agreeably to the "Act to adjust the debts due from this
State ["] in lieu of an Order on the said Treasurer of the 17 Jan'y. 1782 in his favor for
£ 9:7:6 liquidated and passed by the Auditor the 1st. April last. [p. 300]

John Selby Purnall appointed an Associate Justice in Worcester County in the place of
Peter Chaille resigned and

Commission issued to William Morris and John Selby Purnall Associate Justices of
Worcester County.

Commissions issued to Thomas Purnall, James Selby, John Postley, Josiah Mitchell, John
Pope Mitchell, Philip Quinton, Isaac Marshall, William Purnall, Purnall Johnson, Outten
Sturgis, Joshua Townsend and Benjamin Dennis appointed Justices of the Peace of Worcester
County and also to

John Smoot, Edward Noel, Thomas Jones, Benjamin Keene, Henry Leeke, Robert
Griffith, Solomon Birkhead, Robert Dennis, Thomas Woolford, John Stevens, Alexander
Douglass, Ezekiel Richardson and Thomas Barnet appointed Justices of the Peace of Dor-
chester County

The Council adjourned till tomorrow morning.

Friday 20th. May 1791

The Council met.

Present as on yesterday.

Simon Wilkes of Kent County appears, and desires permission to install a Debt of
£1021:19:2 due the State from William Brown with him the said Wilkes security and
adduces the evidence of Mr. William Merritt of the said County that the said Brown consented
to his Security's installing the Debt whereupon a new Bond was taken from Simon Wilkes
with William Merritt Security for the said sum of £ 1021 :19:2 [p. 301] and the old
Bond directed to be assigned to the said Simon Wilkes.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to John Hanson Sen. nine pounds, eleven
shillings and three pence specie agreeably to the "Act to adjust the Debts due from this State"
per Certificate of Richard Dallam's Commissary of Harford County adjusted by the Deputy
Auditor the 30 of August 1787,

That the said Treasurer pay unto Robert Peter Esquire Three hundred and eighteen
pounds, two shillings and ten pence in such certificates as were issued for claims against
persons convicted of Treason per Account against Adam Steuart's Estate, passed by the
Auditor General the 19th. instant.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.
