In Council April 18th. 1789

Whereas it appears by a Certificate from Richard Moale Clerk to the Commissioners for
Baltimore Town, that the said Commissioners have not appointed an Inspector of Salt
Provisions for the said Town of Baltimore for the present year. We in pursuance of the
power vested in us by Law Do appoint Major Nathaniel Smith Inspector of Salt Provisions
for the said Town of Baltimore, to hold the said Office until an Appointment is made by the
said Commissioners agreeably to Law.

Monday 20th. April 1789

William Kilty Esqr. who was appointed one of the Agents for the purchase and Sale of
property taken in execution on behalf of the State, having transmitted a Bond executed by
himself with Colo. Uriah Forrest Security, the same is approved of and ordered to be filed,
[p. 62] Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Stephen Clark Eight pounds,
four shillings and one penny due him per Account passed by the Deputy Auditor.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.

Tuesday 21st. April 1789
