lo "Journal of the Council"

Ordered that the Execution against Philip Graybill Esqr. Collector of taxes for Baltimore
County or his Securities for the balance due from him to the State of Maryland for taxes in
the year 1786 be suspended until the fifteenth Day of April next.

In Council March 20th. 1789

On the Petition of William Underwood, George Lightener, Agnes Thompson, William
Newton, Henry Speck, Elizabeth Diffidaffer, Frederick Reese, Charles Deale, John Peter
Mitchell, Daniel Diffidaffer, Robert Dunn, Peter Smith, Mary Marvel, Catharine Lavely,
Michael Shragley, and Frederick Decker, all of Baltimore County, tavern keepers, setting forth
that they were fined by the Court of Oyer and terminer for the said County at September
term last in the sum of thirty seven shillings and six pence each, for selling Liquors above
the Rates established by the County Court, and alledging that they offended through ignorance
of the regulations; several of them having without effect enquired of the Clerk of said County
for Copies of the same,—which allegation is supported by three of the Justices of the said
Court of Oyer and Terminer who declare their belief in the same and recommend the
Petitioners to the clemency of the Board. It is ordered that the fines aforesaid be remitted.

In Council March aoth. 1789

Thomas Greenwood of Baltimore County by his Petition to the Board sets forth that he
was presented at the last Court of Oyer and terminer for said County, for neglecting his Duty
as an Overseer of the Roads, and was fined five hundred pounds of Tobacco—That at the time
he [p. 50] was presented he did not consider himself Overseer of the Roads as the
year for which he received his Warrant had expired, that the Warrant was dated in September
1787 for one year and he received no other, and that he was unacquainted with the Act of
Assembly changing the appointment from August to April. And four of the Justices of the
said Court having recommended his case to the Consideration of the Board. Ordered that
the said fine of five hundred pounds of Tobacco be and the same is hereby remitted.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to David Ross Esqr. Seventy seven pounds
Current Money for his attendance in Congress per Account passed by the Deputy Auditor,
Ordered that all Proceedings at Law against Daniel Powell Cox Esqr. Collector of taxes
