The following Certificate was this Day transmitted to Charles
Thomson Esqr. Secretary of Congress to be by him delivered to the
House of Representatives of the United States when convened.

State of Maryland

In obedience to An Act of the General Assembly
[p 27] of Maryland passed at November Session seventeen
hundred and eighty eight We do hereby certify and declare that from
the Certificates transmitted to this Board by the returning Officers of
the several Counties, the City of Annapolis and town of Baltimore
within this State, it appears, that the Honorable Joshua Seney,
Daniel Carroll, Benjamin Contee, George Gale, William Smith and
Michael Jenifer Stone Esquires are duly elected Representatives of
this State in the Congress of the United States.

Given in Council at the City of Annapolis under the Seal of the
State of Maryland this twenty seventh Day of January in the Year
of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty nine.
