304 Journal of the State Council, 1784-1789.

Monday 1st. December 1788

The Council met.

Present the Honorable James Brice

John Davidson

John Kilty Esquires.

[p 4] Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to John
White, One hundred and one pounds, five shillings for one quarter's
Salary as Commissioner due the ist instant,

That the said Treasurer pay to Robert Denny thirty three pounds
fifteen shillings for one quarter's Salary as Clerk to the Commissioner
due the 1st. instant.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.

Tuesday 2d. December 1788

The Council met.

Present as on Yesterday.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.

Wednesday 3d. December 1788

The Council met.

Present as on Yesterday.

Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Thomas Han-
son Twenty five pounds, seven shillings and six pence Current Money
for the like sum paid by him to James Baker for surveying Land
in Baltimore County confiscated by the State and sold to the said
Hanson per Account passed by the Deputy Auditor.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.

Thursday 4th. December 1788

The Council met.

Present His Excellency John Eager Howard Esquire.
The Honorable James Brice

John Davidson

John Kilty Esquires.

Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to John Shaw
twenty five pounds to be expended in purchasing Wood for the public
on Account.

Josias Carvel Hall Esquire elected a Member of the Council
attended and qualified before James Brice Esquire Alderman of the
City of Annapolis by taking the several Oaths required by the Consti-
tution and Form of Government [p 5] and Laws of this
State and making a Declaration of his belief in the Christian Religion,
Certificate thereof produced and filed.
