Commissions issued by his Excellency, to Daniel Stull elected
Sheriff of Washington County, and Zadock Sturgis elected Sheriff
of Worcester County.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.

Present as on Yesterday.

The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Smallwood Esquire.

The Hon'ble. Jeremiah T. Chase—James Brice—John Kilty
John Davidson and Benjamin Harrison

Esquires.

[p 359] Commission issued to Thomas Hughlett elected Sheriff
of Caroline County.

Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to John Shaw
Thirty one pounds four shillings and four pence Current Money to
enable him to pay for removing the Arms from Annapolis to
Frederick Town, on account.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.

Saturday 18th. October 1788

In Council October 21st. 1788

On Considering the Petition of John Price and Joseph Blunt of
Queen Anne's County complaining of the illegality of the election
for a Sheriff of said County and of the Conduct of Clement Sewell
and John Thompson the Judges at the said Election and praying a
Hearing before the Board.

Ordered that Monday the third Day of November next be ap-
pointed for a Hearing and Enquiry into the same, that the parties
