The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Paca Esquire Governor.

The Honorable
Aquila Paca, John H. Stone and Sam'l. T. Wright Esqrs.

Ordered That Mrs. Thomas, in whose Possession the Rent-rolls
for the Eastern Shore are, deliver the same, and all the papers
pertaining to the said Rent-rolls, to Mr. John Callahan Register
of the Land Office for the Western Shore, whose Receipt, and this
Order Shall be your justification.

A Petition from Skipwith Johns was presented to this Board
setting forth that he was Recognized in the sum of Ten pounds to
appear at the last Criminal Court of Baltimore County against a
certain Edmund Hogan, who had abused the said Johns, but moving
from Baltimore County into Harford, where he was confined by
sickness to his bed and thereby prevented from attending according
to the Tenor of his Recognizance, consequently his said Recognizance
became forfeited, and five of the Justices of Baltimore County afore-
said certifying the truth of the facts contained in his Petition [p 27]
and recommending a Remission of the said forfeited Recognizance,
The Board upon Consideration of his Case, are of Opinion that the
said Recognizance be remitted and do order and direct a Remission
accordingly.
