Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Philip Hutson
son of Charles, twenty six pounds, six shillings specie agreeably to
the "Act to adjust the Debts due from this State" as per Account
passed by the Auditor General the first of September last.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Wednesday 12th. December 1787

The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Smallwood Esqr. and the same
Members as on Yesterday. Adjourned 'till tomorrow
Morning 11 o'clock.

The Hon'ble. James Brice

Benjamin Harrison Esquires.

Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Joshua Steven-
son two hundred and fourteen pounds, thirteen shillings and one
penny specie agreeably to the "Act to adjust the Debts due from this
State" due him per Account passed by the Dep'y. Auditor the 1st.
September last.

The Honorable John Kilty Esquire attended.

Jeremiah Townly Chase Esquire elected a Member of the Council,
appeared and qualified before James Brice Esquire Mayor of the
City of Annapolis by taking, repeating and subscribing the several
Oaths required by the Constitution and Form of Government and
Laws of this State, and making, repeating, and subscribing a Declara-
tion of his belief in the Christian Religion, Certificate thereof filed.

Thomas Johnson junior Esquire is unanimously elected Clerk to
the Council, who qualified in the usual form, before James Brice
Esquire Mayor of the City of Annapolis. Certificate filed.

Mr. Jub Fowler appointed Messenger.

The following Papers sent to the General Assembly by Mr.
Harrison:

No. 1 Copy of a Letter from Governor and Council of 11 June 1787
to Francis Deakins Esq. with his appointment. No. 2. his Answer
